Ocean Liner Canberra in Dry Dock
Southampton, Hampshire, England, UK --- Original caption: 45,000 ton Canberra in dry dock. The 45,000 ton cruise liner Canberra was in dry dock at Southampton today where she is undergoing her annual refit. The refit is being carried out by Vosper Thornycroft to ensure that Canberra is kept up to her high standard of seaworthiness & safety, & is in preparation for her 22 night Christmas cruise & her 3 month round the world cruise, which commences on January 8th. Canberra entered service in 1961 & is now the flagship of P & O's passenger division. She carries 760 passengers; since her last refit, Canberra has completed over 20 cruises & carried over 25,000 holiday makers.
